Painted for Rick Fairless, of Strokers Dallas.
This Job was one of my most challenging pieces to date. Since the concept is so
abstract, yet the images and color the Rick wanted to portray were so specific, I had to find a way to marry the rainbow like colors of the sixties in a flowing pattern amidst an orange original base coat. Every square inch of that bike is highly detailed and completely painted with my airbrush.
The extensive color changes and image research as well as text variables lead to an average of 4hrs
to finish an area the size of your hand, thus pushing the job into a major marathon. We stopped
counting at 500 hrs. Mind you, the job was finished in a month and a half. You do the math. There were a couple of late nights and I might have missed church once or twice.
Oh did I mention, I also broke my finger on my painting hand four weeks into the job, which gave it an extra zing.
